Building a strong, caring community is one of our most effective crime prevention tools. The "Say Hi" campaign aims to bring people together and nurture a sense of belonging and responsibility in our community.
By reaching out to neighbours and friends, you can help build a strong community.
- You'll get connected with your community
- You'll remove barriers that separate people
- You'll nurture a sense of belonging & inclusion
- You'll start a dialogue about community safety
Small steps build safe communities. Take the first step, and say "Hi" to the people in your community.
Crime Prevention Week (Nov 7 - 11, 2011)
It's a bird...It's a plane....It's Say Hi Guy / Say Hi Gal !!
Watch for our caped crusaders during Crime Prevention Week!
Say Hi Guy and Say Hi Gal will sporadically take to the streets of Waterloo Region to promote a message that everyone has a role to play in crime prevention and it can start with an act as simple as saying Hi.
Watch for Say Hi Guy and Say Hi Gal as they greet people throughout Waterloo Region and hand out Say Hi stickers to encourage people to connect with one another by saying hi.
