Get Connected Campaign
"Get Connected" is a three-phase awareness campaign developed by the Community Safety & Crime Prevention Council to increase community engagement. Community safety and crime prevention is everyone's responsibility....and you can do your part by Getting Connected with your community.
Our goal: to make our community safer, by helping people connect with others and to learn what they can do together to contribute to community safety.
Phase one of the Get Connected campaign is simply called "Say Hi". We encourage you to take the first step and say hi to the members of your community. Saying hi is an activity that people of all ages, cultures and circumstances can do. By changing this simple behaviour, as a community we can net great results when it comes to community safety. Simply put....a connected community is a readily mobilized community.
Over the next several months you'll see this campaign achieve greater public exposure through
television, radio, newspaper, and
transit shelter
advertising.
"Get Connected" follows last year's incredibly successful "Look Deeper" campaign (2003), in which the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Council challenged the public's perception of youth. The I Am Smart, I Am Strong, I Am Worthy messages challenged the public to break down the stereotypes of youth and to value what youth have to offer.
